Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Alexander (Alex) Navab is the former Head (May 2014 – September 2017) and Co-Head (December 2008 – April 2014) of the Americas Private Equity business at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) and has over 25 years of experience in the industry. Mr. Navab held a number of other leadership roles at KKR, including as a member of the Firm’s Management Committee (December 2005 – September 2017), Chair of the Americas Private Equity Investment Committee (October 2013 – September 2017) and Co-Chair (December 2011 – September 2013), Chair of the Americas Portfolio Management Committee (January 2016 – September 2017), and Head of the Media and Communications industry Team for the Americas Private Equity business (January 2002 – January2012). During his leadership and co-leadership of the Americas Private Equity business (2008 – 2017), KKR invested $14 billion of capital through the Americas dedicated funds, in over 50 companies. At the time of Mr. Navab’s departure from KKR, the Americas PE platform had over $35 billion of Assets under Management (AUM). The America’s Private Equity portfolio at the time of Mr. Navab’s departure included controlling or large minority investments across a wide variety of industries.
Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Navab was with James D. Wolfensohn Incorporated where he was involved in mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate finance advisory work. From 1987 to 1989, he was with Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he worked in the Investment Banking Department. He received a B.A. with honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from Columbia College, and an M.B.A. with High Distinction, Baker Scholar, Wolfe Award, from Harvard Business School.In2011, Mr.Navab received the John Jay Award for distinguished professional achievement from Columbia College. In2016, he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
Mr. Navab is actively involved in philanthropic, educational, community and national organizations, serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Fidelity National Information Systems, Inc. (“FIS”); member of the Board of Directors at Cornerstone Capital Group; a member of the Board of Trustees at New York-Presbyterian Hospital; a member of the Board of Directors at The Robin Hood Foundation; a member of the Columbia University Board of Trustees; the former Chair of the Board of Visitors at Columbia College; a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School; a member of the Council on Foreign Relations; a member of the Executive Advisory Council at the George W. Bush Presidential Center; a member of The Hamilton Project Advisory Council; former National Co-Chair of American Enterprise Institute (AEI); a member of the Board of Trustees at The Buckley School in New York; and on the Executive Committee at The Hellenic Initiative (a non-profit organization supporting economic renewal in Greece through philanthropy, entrepreneurship and economic investment).

Robert (Bob) Berlin joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019. From 2008-2018, he served as a managing director of The Baupost Group, working on private equity investments at The Baupost Group, including the Firm’s investments in Arby’s, Archroma, Bakkavor, Central Pacific Bank, Innovia, and PDC among others. In addition to managing an investment team focused on private corporations, his other investment experience centered on carveouts, turnarounds, and recapitalizations across multiple sectors including: consumer, value-add industrials, technology, financials and businesses services aggregating more than $5bn in total enterprise value. As a board member at both public and private companies, Berlin helped the management teams drive value creation through investments in innovation, expense reductions, accretive capital investments, organizational upgrades, and new commercial relationships.
Prior to Baupost, Berlin was a Partner at J.H. Whitney & Co. where he sourced and led carve outs and turnaround equity and credit restructuring investments across the consumer, software, healthcare, and business services sectors. Prior to J.H. Whitney, Berlin was an executive at two technology firms, including as CFO and Head of Strategic Planning at DSL.net, a broadband company which he brought public.
Berlin received a B.S., with Honors, from Washington & Lee University. In addition to several private companies, Berlin is a board member for the Catch-A-Lift Fund and the New York Board of Good Sports.

Michael (Mike) Gaviser joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019. Gaviser comes to the firm with more than twenty-five years of experience and leadership in strategy, business development and client service within the financial services industry and specifically alternative investments. Most recently, Gaviser was a Managing Director in the Client and Partner Group at KKR, where he led the firm’s global efforts for registered products including fundraising, new product development, marketing and distribution efforts. Prior to KKR, he spent fifteen years at Alliance Bernstein in various roles and capacities, including Senior Managing Director and Head of Global Alternative Sales and Client Development for the institutional, retail and private client channels. From 1998-2008 he led equity sales for Sanford C. Bernstein in London and Large Market Sales in New York.
Gaviser is involved in a number of New York area philanthropic efforts, and sits on numerous nonprofit boards. He earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
Ram M. Jagannath joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019. Prior to NCP, he was a Managing Director at The Carlyle Group in its flagship US Buyout private equity fund, focused on healthcare. During his twelve years at Carlyle, he worked broadly across the healthcare sector, including general healthcare services (payors and providers), pharma and pharma services, medical products, diagnostics, healthcare information technology, and tech-enabled healthcare services. He was a member of the teams which invested in One Medical Group, Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD), Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Healthscope Ltd., and HCR ManorCare. Prior to joining Carlyle, he worked at Genstar Capital and Thomas Weisel Capital Partners (now known as Tailwind Capital).
Jagannath received an M.B.A. from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and a B.S.E. in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering with a minor in Economics from Duke University. After Duke, he completed post-graduate research in Economic Development as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Zagreb in Croatia. Jagannath serves on the Duke University Pratt School of Engineering Board of Visitors, and was previously a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Bhavna Vashisht Katkar joined Navab Capital Partners in 2018, bringing twenty years of financial services experience and leadership to the firm across business operations and human capital. Most recently, Katkar was with Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) for nearly ten years where she led Private Markets Human Capital for the Americas, partnering with Private Equity, Growth Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Energy and KKR Capstone. While at KKR, she also covered the Client & Partner Group, Capital Markets, Credit, Balance Sheet, Corporate Development, Macro and Asset Allocation, Investor Relations, Business Operations, Risk Strategies and Innovation and Technology businesses. Prior to KKR, Katkar served in several roles at Bear Stearns from 2003 to 2008, including Head of Human Capital for Fixed Income. Formerly, she was with Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank, where she started her career.
Katkar holds a B.A. from Western University and an M.Sc., with Honors, from the London School of Economics.

Georgia Levenson Keohane joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019 from the Pershing Square Foundation, where she was Executive Director, and Columbia Business School, where she was a Professor in the Social Enterprise Program. Keohane’s career has bridged the private and nonprofit sectors. A former McKinsey consultant, she has advised philanthropies, community development and finance organizations, educational entities, think tanks, impact investors and social purpose companies. Keohane speaks and writes regularly on social and economic policy. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Foreign Affairs, Time, the Harvard Business Review, and other publications, and she is the author of two award winning books, Capital and the Common Good: How Innovative Finance is Tackling the World’s Most Urgent Problems (2016) and Social Entrepreneurship for the 21st Century: Innovation Across the Nonprofit, Private and Public Sectors (2013).
She is a Senior Fellow at New America, and serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. Keohane holds a B.A. from Yale University, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and an M.Sc. from London School of Economics, where she was a Fulbright Scholar.

Annette Rodriguez joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019. From 2008-2019 she was at Warburg Pincus, most recently as a Managing Director. While at Warburg Pincus, Rodriguez invested in and managed portfolio companies across consumer, retail, healthcare, industrials and business services. Rodriguez worked closely with and served on the Boards of Gabe’s, a leading off-price retailer in the mid-Atlantic; Glansaol, a global beauty and personal care company launched in partnership with Warburg Pincus; Outset Medical, a pioneering medical technology company; Silk Road Medical, an innovative medical equipment manufacturer; TriMark, the #1 distributor of foodservice equipment and supplies in North America, and Wencor Group, a leading designer, repair provider and distributor of aftermarket aerospace components. She was also actively involved in the Warburg Pincus’s investments in Scotsman Industries, Neiman Marcus and Consolidated Precision Products. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Rodriguez worked at JPMorgan Partners (CCMP Capital), the private equity arm of J.P. Morgan, as a Generalist.
Rodriguez received a B.S. magna cum laude in economics with concentrations in finance and accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School. She is also a board member of New York Professional Advisors for Community Entrepreneurs (NYPACE), a non-profit consulting organization assisting entrepreneurs from under-resourced communities.

Mark Schroeder joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019. Schroeder’s professional career includes a broad spectrum of experiences including: private equity, advising accounting standards setters and as a senior financial advisor to Uber Technologies. Schroeder was a Senior Partner in Deloitte’s M&A practice responsible for overseeing financial services to a premier global investment firm that manages investments across private equity, energy, infrastructure, real estate, capital markets, credit strategies, and hedge funds. He led M&A teams on large transactions and established and advised M&A service teams in North America, UK, Europe, and Russia. He concluded his Deloitte career based in Hong Kong leading Deloitte’s Asia M&A teams’ serving its premier private equity client in Beijing, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Seoul, Southeast Asia, Sydney, and Tokyo. After retiring from Deloitte, Schroeder spent four years at the Financial Accounting Foundation establishing and leading the review of the FASB and GASB financial accounting standards. Most recently, he was employed as an advisor to the senior management and Audit Committee of Uber, reporting to the CEO during searches for a permanent CFO and Controller. While at Uber, he advised senior management on financial reporting processes, financial planning, internal controls, Audit Committee matters and the IPO process.
Schroeder graduated from the University of Florida with a BSBA degree in Accounting.

Christian Diez joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019, bringing nearly 15 years of experience in private equity finance, accounting, and operations. Most recently, Diez was a Principal at Corsair Capital, where he was responsible for the management and execution of the fund accounting, tax reporting, audit and operations functions for the Corsair funds. In addition, he managed the operational execution of the Corsair fund investments. Prior to Corsair, Diez held Controllership roles at Brigade Capital Management and Wolfensohn Fund Management. He began his career as an Associate in the Alternative Investments division of Credit Suisse.
Diez is a Certified Public Accountant and holds both an M.B.A and a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the New York Institute of Technology.
Jawad Hasan joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019. Prior to NCP, he was a Principal at Apax Partners where he focused on investments across the healthcare sector. Hasan worked closely with and served on the Boards of Kepro and Genex. Prior to joining Apax Partners, he worked at Soros Fund Management and Great Hill Partners, where he worked with Ascenty, Latisys, and Passport Health.
Hasan received an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also co-founded and serves on the Board of the New York Chapter of The Citizens Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports the education of underprivileged children.
Sunny Patel joined Navab Capital Partners in 2019. Prior to NCP, Patel was an Associate Partner at 3G Capital, where he had a leading role in investing 3G’s liquid assets in fundamental long and short positions across a range of industry sectors, including consumer, technology, business services, industrials, and financial services. In addition, Patel spent several years at The Kraft Heinz Company, a 3G portfolio investment, where he ran several, billion-dollar branded consumer businesses. In his roles as Vice President and General Manager of the Kraft Heinz Sauces and Coffee businesses, he led significant turnaround programs focused on reinvigorating sales growth through innovation, e-commerce and effective marketing strategies, while delivering sustainable operational improvements.
Prior to joining 3G, Patel was a Principal at KKR, where he focused on private investments primarily in the consumer and media and technology sectors. In addition to executing investments and managing portfolio holdings in the U.S., he played a significant role in establishing KKR’s Latin America investing platform.
Patel started his career in M&A advisory at Lehman Brothers / Barclays Capital. He graduated summa cum laude from New York University, where he studied Finance and Pre-Medicine.
